Surfer's Beach Retreat

This home is located in an older, quiet beach neighborhood away from main roads and traffic. The beach entrance is right around the corner from the home (about 500 ft) and is one of the most popular surfing beaches in the area. The home features plenty of gathering space and privacy with a partial blue ocean view from master bedroom and sandy beach for miles.

The home features 10 bedrooms plus a private media room and 8 bathrooms with Continuous hot water assuring you never run low on hot water. All 13 queens/kings feature new luxury European pillow top mattresses and luxurious linens. No bunk beds or sofa beds in the home makes it perfect for reunions and corporate guests alike. No steps into the main level make it perfect for those with mobility issues as well.

The main level features 4 bedrooms, 4 baths, gathering room, huge kitchen, dining, laundry, heated swim spa and hot tub allowing guests with mobility issues to remain actively involved with the rest of the group and easily retire to their room only a few feet away when desired.

Gathering room features 3 sofas, love seat, chairs and ottomans surrounding a large gas fireplace and the 70 inch television making this home ideal for football games and holiday gatherings.

The kitchen/dining/gathering area is wide open for entertaining allowing your entire group to interact and entertain with plenty of room for everyone. The professional kitchen features a huge 16 foot quartz table/ island that doubles as a conference table with a full view of the gas fireplace and 70 inch television for meetings, presentations or sharing family videos. Enjoy movies on Netflix, Blu-Ray and right from your smartphone.

Kitchen features contemporary cabinets, quartz countertops and Viking Professional appliances with a 5 burner gas range that supports restaurant sized cookware, 2 ovens, 2 dishwashers, 2 microwaves, 2 stainless refrigerators, small appliances, cookware, dishes, 2 waffle irons, commercial coffee makers and more. Bring your favorite coffee beans and enjoy our espresso bar with over 20 syrups, chocolate and caramel sauces and more. There are 2 folding tables for additional dining, games and puzzles.

Upstairs features an open billiard room and a small media room that features 2 leather theater sofas, 4 soft chairs and a 50 inch TV for adults to get away or to keep the kids entertained for hours with gaming and movies.
There are 6 bedrooms that have private baths. The master features a jetted tub with see-through fireplace and ocean views. Each bedroom features a queen or king bed, flat screen TV and cable channels. Some rooms have 2 queens.

Located next to the deck, the 19 foot heated swimming spa features adjustable current from 0- 950 gallons per minute challenging even the best swimmers, while the hot tub has seating for 8 with lots of jets and separate heater to keep the hot tub and swim spa at ideal temperatures. The deck area features a stainless gas BBQ, outdoor dining/gathering tables and fire pit with high intensity lighting to entertain into the evenings.

Just minutes from Salishan Golf and Spa Resort and the whale watching capital of Depoe Bay, where whales come within a couple hundred feet of shore.

  We used the house for a corporate retreat and planning session. Size and furnishings were ideal. A few maintenance issues present, but none that impacted our use and enjoyment. First floor 2-queen room had a malfunction in toilet tank. 2nd floor smoke detector was chirping on arrival. Gas oven knobs turn too easily; twice the stove was unintentionally turned on while accessing the microwave above; unaware until we smelled natural gas across the room.

  It was a great time with our adult children and grandchildren. We were 15 with 6 couples so the 10 bedrooms made it comfortable for everyone to have their own private space. The bathrooms were also plentiful and adequate for all. The living space is a bit too small for the amount of people so not everyone can be there together. That was a bit disappointing. The kitchen is very large and can seat everyone at a beautiful long table! The fireplaces were not functioning and remotes were missing. Joe, the property contact person was very accommodating and easy to reach when we had questions! He gets a 5 star!

  The weather was unseasonably warm and sunny, the location is good when speaking of it’s proximity to beaches, parks, attractions but the neighborhood leaves a lot to be desired, trashy yards as you enter from the highway, very rundown houses/rentals and it was very concerning as we approached the house. Parking is very tight especially considering this place is supposed to accommodate 20 people and there is no on street parking. There is an identical unit next door, which they don’t tell you, you basically share the yard with. Our neighbors, were up until past midnight each night they were there with the flood lights on, which shone directly into 5 of the bedrooms. They were also loud and smoking all the time they were out there. We tried to intervene each night but got no where with them. When we arrived the garbage cans were over filled with bags of garbage all over the yard. We were instructed to put the cans out on Sunday night but not the overfill, which would have filled the 2 cans again and would have left us no room for our garbage. Some of our group got up and spoke with the garbage collectors and got them to take all of the extra bags which we had to gather and take out to the road to get collected. The second day were were there one of the on suite bathroom toilets backed up and we were accused of putting a diaper down the toilet, funny we didn’t have any children in diapers in our group. It took them 2 days to get that issue fixed. 2 smoke detectors were totally missing, one was in a bedroom. As mentioned in other reviews multiple windows, almost half, do not have screens. I specifically asked about that prior to our stay and was told that the upstairs windows should not be opened for “safety” because someone could fall out a window, even with a screen....and if we needed to be cooler we should use the air conditioning to cool down.   Deck was a mess, baseboards on the island in kitchen falling off all scraped chipping off, there was hair in the bathroom in the drawers, was very dusty
  Few people had dust mite reactions and left a day sooner. One dishwasher isn’t working, house is not worth the money I paid for 3 nights. Stayed there 2-3 years ago was much better. Couches are very dusty and the fan blades are covered in dust ... won’t stay there again

  House was very roomy but had some problems. Many window screens were missing. We needed to open windows for air but didn’t want bugs coming in. I texted the property manager on the first day and never received a reply. Loved the double refrigerators in the kitchen but ovens were not working properly. They didn’t heat up and it took forever to cook foods. Also there were no baking sheets to put under pans in the ovens (as required). The instant hot water was great as was the warm water outside for washing off sand after the beach. Beach access was steep and a challenge. The yard was much smaller than what it looked like from the pictures.

  House was great for 20 of us. Plenty of bed space. Pool/hot tub was a hit. Beach was about a block away and was wonderful. Kitchen was well stocked (except for cookie sheets, as someone else has noted). Wish more of the windows had screens on them and we never found the remote for the living room ceiling fan but those are minor issues. The neighborhood security person stopped by the 2nd night to tell us we had too many cars (we had 7, he said the limit was 6) and I pulled up the email from the rental company stating there was room for 7 cars and he was fine with us after that.

  It was good! However, I wanted to let you know about a few ammeneties that were not working correctly when we arrived. The microwave over the stove doesn't appear to work. The shower in the master bedroom downstairs leaks, and one side of the swim spa doesn't heat anymore. Other than that, everything was very clean and enjoyable!   Overall the experience at this house was good. I really enjoyed the amenities, it was large enough for our group of 18, and there were plenty of bathroom, Bedrooms, and comfortable Queen size beds. The local people who handled our questions and the small issues that we had with the house were great. The swim spawn hot tub were huge and comfortably fit as many of us as wanted to go in at 1 time. Several people in our group really enjoyed the pool table as well. The house was an easy walk to the beach, less than 5 minutes.The rental company who runs this rental, however, was not my favorite. They tried to charge several $100 for aliete checkout, comma they did not supply a is my enough toilet paper to even we're to even come sort of close to enough for the number of people we had for the number of nights we had rented the house And several items that should have been stocked and/or noted prior to our arrival were missing this included things they had specifically said would be present such as dish soap And a working access code to the door. For the amount of money we paid for the rental I would have thought they could have done better. I do not think I would rent from this company in the future although I really as I said didn't enjoy the house.

  For our stay we had several people from Arizona that had never been to Oregon. The layout of the house is perfect for larger groups, plenty of bathrooms and bedrooms so everyone had ample room. The location is close enough to walk to the beach, but beach access is only semi improved so it can be a bit steep for older guests. The swim spa and hot tub were a hit
  The kitchen was outfitted with most anything you could want and the 2 refrigerators came in handy. Now, for the negatives...the check in instruction email with the door code was never sent, so I spent several minutes looking through reservation emails to find the on-site caretaker's contact information so I could get access to the property. The description of the home includes a lengthy section about their gourmet coffee bar and all of the syrups available to make specialty coffees etc. That was not available at all. I called the rental office and was told they would have the caretaker fix it, but it was never addressed during our stay. For a house designed for up to 20 people a standard 12 cup coffee maker and an espresso machine you can purchase at Target does not equate to gourmet coffee bar. Other than that, the visit was lovely, everything was lean and looked exactly as presented in the listing.

  We are Oregon locals that love going to the beach this is the first time we decided to rent a house on the coast. We didn’t want to rent a hotel and i started looking for air b n b’s but none fit our wants and needs like this place. Plenty of room for 20, fire pit, a hot tub and a swimming tub, 3min walk to the beach. The house was very clean and taken care of. We had one issue we’re the hot tub stopped working but Joe took care of it right away. Over all this was the most relaxing weekend with out close friends. Would definitely book again

  This house was perfect for a family gathering!! It had 10 rooms, so every couple had a nice room and the kids all had beds to sleep in. The pool table was awesome and the kids loved it. It was nice that they had a space upstairs for fun, while parents could have a space downstairs if they wanted. The huge table was perfect! The house felt much larger than the pictures. The hot tub/spa was the BEST by far!! kids had a pool and hot tub it was amazing and is heated. The heater on the pool side did shut down twice due to a breaker issue. But by morning, once it had time to rest, it would start back up and we could still use it during the day. But it is something that needs to be fixed(which maintenance said they will do). The only down side was on a description somewhere(one of the rental sites-think VRBO) it said that it was across from the beach and had a ocean view and that it was IN Lincoln city. It is located on a rougher looking street at the north end of Depot Bay. The beach is super close and was just a short walk. No view, but we were fine with that. We ended up being totally happy with the location. Beach front is always ideal, but this was close enough for the other perks it had. Plus its like 1 min from the grocery store in Depot Bay. The only other thing I would say is it could benefit from a good deep clean. It was not dirty, but it also did not feel totally deep cleaned either. Carpets, walls, shelves, pans could use a good wiping down. But to be fair, it is a huge house and it was clean, so that might just be my version of clean vs. another's. Overall it was amazing and we would totally stay there again!! I would recommend this house to another group, it was perfect! We had so much fun at the beach and at the house. I would say choose the yellow house, the hot tub/spa is on the private side of the shared yard, so we felt like we had our own yard. The green house has the spa/tub that the yellow house looks on to, so not as private.

  House is huge however not enough parking for 10 families. Kitchen has plenty of dishes and glasses silverware but is in need of pans bakeware and small kitchen appliances. Cleaning needs to be addressed no outdoor coverage by doors so welcome mat was soaked which brought in a lot of dirt and water. Hot tub spa pool was nice but not having a dry place to put towels ect. Upstairs windows no screen covering which could be VERY DANGEROUS with small children . Road out front is horrible. It would only take a couple loads of gravel to fix it. Best thing in house was the spices. Lots of them. Pool table out dated. Inside bathroom door handle fell off trapping our daughter with down syndrome in for half hour before someone noticed she was gone. Jetted tub in master was really nice as was the fireplace very romantic. Loved the 22 person table.

  The Surfer's Beach Retreat was a terrific choice for a multi-family vacation. There are loads of rooms and bathrooms to choose from that will meet the needs of any group. The division of space was good, and the movie room upstairs was perfect for kids to hang out in. While the flow in the kitchen was a little strange, the giant table was great for family dinners, and having 2 of most appliances was a must for a group of 20. My favorite spot was the hot tub and spa-there are not photos of it in the listing which makes it understated. The spa side was large and really fun for the younger ones in our group, while the adults enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub portion of the contraption. The management staff went above and beyond to trouble shoot a broken spa before our weekend had begun, and we were appreciative of their dedication and ability to problem solve. The path to the beach was too steep for a few in our group, but most of us had no difficulty. A great spot!

  Reunion getaway for college friends. Amazing to find a place with 10 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms so we could all be together. Everything was clean and nice. Enough room to gather as a group; or spread out for privacy. Only complaints: the location as listed on vrbo was dead wrong. Should be fixed.
  Big deal for us was the main TV had no remote and nobody we called could fix it. Nearly ruined our plans for a big slide show/video we'd planned. We bought a new TV and used that.
  All in all a good weekend though.

  We found this property when looking for a place for 15 of us to stay on the coast for an extended family reunion.
  All equipment was as expected and much of the property exceeded expectations. In particular, we were impressed with how the kitchen was thoroughly stocked. Small appliances included an immersion blender and a selection of crockpots.
  We used the swim spa every night of our stay.
  There was plenty of hot water to make showers convenient and comfortable.
  The bedrooms were spacious, comfortable and plentiful.

  We had a wonderful time in this beautiful home. 21 members of the family were there and each couple was able to have their own bedroom! The kitchen is large and contains all the necessary appliances. The two refrigerators and two stoves meant there was room for everything and all could eat at the same time. With the beach just a couple of blocks away it's a perfect spot for a big group gathering

  We had a group of 15-18 folks stay for a week (some rotating in / out at mid-week). My general feeling about Oregon coast properties like this is that they are usually on the edge of general failure because of poor maintenance and, sometimes, cheap construction. This was no exception but still better than most.
  
  Best attribute is the large number of private rooms, and 8 bathrooms. Makes it easy for a group our size to stay together comfortably. Hard to find a similar property like this in the area.
  
  Neighborhood was generally OK, though the road in from 101 is in dire need of repair. Giant potholes that are impossible to avoid. Recommend drivers come in through the back way.
  
  Kitchen was well stocked and we appreciated having two refrigerators and two ovens.
  
  I'd recommend they do away with the pool table upstairs and turn that into an open area. Also, the "couch bedroom" is just that - couches, not convertible beds. OK for kids but not so much for adults.

  Our family rents a house every year somewhere. Every other year is at the Oregon Coast. This year was one of the best!! The house had room for all 23 of us aged 76 to 3. The rooms were spacious enough for each of us and the bathrooms in almost every room was a huge bonus we were not used to. We loved the gigantic table we could all eat around and play games on. We loved the pool and hot tub. We loved the big television in the big living room that we all enjoyed a classic movie enjoyed by every age. The beach is only minutes away, and although it is not an easy path down to or up from it's worth it. We truly did love the house. Who knows, year after next we may be back to this one.

  This house was the perfect size for our group. the size of the kitchen is fantastic. One of the microwaves did not work but the other one did so it was no big deal. My issue was the parking. this house only allows 5 cars in the drive way and with a group with 7 families this is not enough.

  We arrived at this beautiful house and spent 5 days, but were so disappointed in the way it was advertised vs what we got. The swim spa was not filled and not heated, so we could not use it. The breakers kept flipping so we couldn’t use hot rollers in the upstairs bathroom. There were no instructions on how to start the fireplaces (It took us two days to figure out how to light the one in the living room, and even after we figured it out, it was not easy to start) or how to use Netflix (Never did figure out how to use) or access the beach. An information book would have been great. The chairs around the table were breaking or broken (we actually added an unsafe one to the many stashed in the closet)so we had to use folding chairs around the table for meals. The beach access advertised was so dangerous we could not take the kids down the steep slope and had to drive to another beach. Water temperature was not warm enough to take a bath in the master two of the nights. The wireless access constantly dropped even when it was not storming. One microwave could not be used since it would not accept entries or even close consistently. There was trash including glass bottles around the hot tub. We moved the couches for better viewing of the Civil War game and found we had to sweep under them to clean. The toilet paper holder was pulled out of the wall in the master and the toilet paper was sitting on the edge of the tub. There were only 17 dinner sized plates so four of us had to eat on salad plates every meal. Overall, it felt like there was no attention to maintenance or cleanliness. This house has the ability to be outstanding but is not. I have never left a negative review before and didn't want to, so emailed the owners with no response.

  upon arrival we noticed that the hot tub was dirty. oil floating on the top and a fowl smell. We called, they said it had been cleaned the previous day, It had not.. We had to wait three days for the man to come clean it, because of the weekend. ( arrived Sat. cleaned Monday afternoon) spacious as described, not very private as there are two identical houses next to each other. property line is the side of the house. open your bedroom blind and you are part of your neighbors hot tub party.
  because of the identical houses next to each other, we had the occupants of the side home knocking on our door asking when we were leaving. parking in our parking area etc. some of the furniture was dirty and smelled musty. The kitchen chairs were cheap and sunk in the seat part and the legs broke easily. one was in the trash from the previous renters. The turn around rate of renters in the side house was so quick I kon't know how it was cleaned. we had a group of 20, ( 10 children and 10 adults) plenty of room and the bonus was all the coffee flavorings and the expresso machine..

  This house was perfect for our needs for a couples retreat. We easily fit 9 couples in the house and had a great weekend. Everyone enjoyed having their own rooms and there were lots of great spaces to hang out. The dining room table fit all of us and the kitchen made meal prep for a crowd easy. The owners were great to work with and quick to respond with any needs or questions we had while we were there. We would definitely use this house again.
